About Sydney

I absolutely adore English and writing and wish to help as many students as possible with their journey of it. My goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to get your job done while also allowing you to learn something. This will be my first time tutoring with a platform, but I have helped many students with English in the past. So whether it's writing, proof reading, editing, or help getting those ideas flowing...I've got you! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey, and I hope that we can get started soon.

What I enjoy most about helping students with English is: teaching others something that I'm passionate about, getting to build connections with my students, and watching my students succeed. There is nothing better than observing the growth in a student's learning.

While in High School, I attended a class called "Teaching Academy" and it was there that I spent two years getting to know the basics of teaching and interned five days a week in a classroom. My love for English on the otherhand, started in Junior High and continued to where I am now. I was so fortunate to have amazing teachers and now I feel like it's my turn to pay it forwards.

About the lesson

My typical process for working with a new student is first and foremost getting to know them first. Once I know a student's learning style, I can begin to help the student in a way that is easiest for them. I want this process to be as painless as they do.

I have worked with a number of different students: Elementary, Junior High, and High School. I would say that the majority of my older students seeked help with projects and essay editing... a skill that I love to use to help others.

Advice that I would give a student looking to hire a teacher in English is this: Give the teacher a chance. You don't know how anything is going to work out until you try it. If you find out that it's not the teacher for you, no problem! At least you tried. But, there is that chance that the teacher you hire will be exactly what you were looking for and more. You'll never find out unless you give them a chance.

A recent event that I'm fond of would have to be creating High School Literature curiculum for my sister who is going to be home schooled. There was something exciting about putting it all together and lining up assignments on the calander. I asked my sister what she wanted to get out of the lessons, and then I morphed her requests together with the standards and what needed to be learned. Definately an exciting experience.
