About Tanya
We believe in the power of communication to help improve people's lives and the lives of others. Communicating in someone else's language is a way to build relationships both professionally and personally. We provide opportunities to do this through teaching language classes, providing interpreters, and by translating documents and information for websites.
Contact us today about how we can help you learn to communicate more effectively with the people in your community and around the globe.
I enjoy helping people communicate more clearly, so that they can be more easily understood and understand others by improving their vocabulary and understanding American English pronunciation.
I started teaching elementary school, but later realized I really preferred teaching English as a Second Language to adult students when I started teaching adults in 2001.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Purdue University and have been teaching for over 20 years. I have had my own business teaching English as a Second or New Language (ESL / ENL) to adult students since 2004. I attend professional conferences to improve my skills as an English instructor and to be able to help share those skills with my staff.

English
For students wanting to learn English, we provide an online English placement test that assesses grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
After we determine the student's level, we recommend a class that matches the level of the student, but will challenge them to improve.
We then have the student register online.
I have worked with students from Japan, Mexico, China, Brazil, Spain, Russia, and Poland. Most of the students have been people who work for international companies and family members of international employees.
I would advise students to make sure they have a teacher who can assess their current level and give another assessment to them later to check their progress over time. I would also advise not merely finding someone who is a speaker of English, but someone who is has a background in education and is able to explain things well and has knowledge of grammar and how to teach pronunciation.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1. Why do I want to learn English?
2. How much time do I have to practice my English language skills?
3. What are my long term and short term goals for learning this language?
4. What do I want to be able to do with the language that I can't currently do?
5. What makes a good teacher?
6. What can I do to study and practice English?
