Learning should be a very individualized process; I love tailoring my teaching process to the specific student that I'm working with! I have experience with many types of students and all kinds of learning styles, and I want to help you find what works best for you!

I became a Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader at my university. I collaborated with a professor of anatomy and physiology and began leading three review sessions a week based on his class content. I discovered that I love helping other people learn and am now working towards getting a job in teaching after graduation.

I am a college senior, about to graduate with a bachelor's degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. I have worked as a tutor at multiple learning levels. I have also been trained as a Supplemental Instruction leader, which has allowed me to use collaborative teaching techniques in collegiate classrooms.

About the lesson

The first thing that I do is get an idea of a student's whole situation so that I can best be of service. This includes any life details the student would like to share as well as learning styles and a basic knowledge assessment. After getting the big picture, I zoom in on the details of where the student is struggling and explain what isn't understood so that the student can practice the material while I am there to help.

Elementary school age, high school, college students

Find someone that cares about you and wants you to succeed. Look for flexibility and passion both for teaching and for their field.
