About Ryan
I've been teaching Middle School Reading/ELAR for 2 years, and hold an active Teaching Certification in ELAR 4-8 as well as ELAR 7-12. I have a passion for helping students and have learned to have patience in my profession. I have learned how to motivate students when they become frustrated by material they do not understand.
Some areas I excel in:
● Reading Skills – Here I opt to help students polish their reading skills and help students fully comprehend the content of written passages and interpretation. I possess the ability to identify themes in passages.
● Grammar and Vocabulary skills – Here I possess a high mastery of grade-level structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
● English Writing –Depending on the student's needs, I can assist in prompting students to write compositions or essays -- or simply teaching the basics of sentence composition.
● Interpersonal skills – Daily I interact with students of different ages and levels of learning, and find ways to help them grasp English skills.
● Shakespeare and Poetry- I have extensively taken courses in this area and can help explain and interpret the multiple meanings in Shakespeare and other types of Poetry.
