About Michael
As someone with experience teaching both in the United States as well as abroad, I have a global perspective on various teaching methods and techniques to best reach students where they are in their educational journeys. From K-12 schools in Texas, virtual workspaces with students in China, to high school classrooms in France, I have had the privilege to hone my skills in a variety of cultural and diverse settings.
Being able to watch my students grow and learn is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my role as an educator. Moreover, learning from my students themselves—be it something academic, cultural, or just plain fun—remains a cherished facet of what I truly love to do.
I hold a BA in English and French, as well as an AA in Creative Writing. During my time postgraduation, I have worked as a full-time substitute teacher in the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District, an online ESL teacher for Chinese students, as well as an assistant English teacher in Lorient, France. This fall, I will enter a master's program in French Studies at NYU's Graduate School of Arts and Science.

When first working with a new student, I like to learn more about their educational goals with tutoring, as well as assess their level in a given subject. From there, I plan my lessons accordingly with respect to age group, preferred learning method(s), and desired outcome.
I have worked with students from a wide array of ages (4 to 21), cultures, and walks of life. I firmly believe learning should be accessible to everyone regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, ability, or religion.
