About Alexandra
I am a junior at the University of California, Berkeley majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology. To get here, I excelled in many AP and honors classes, the SAT, and the ACT. My areas of expertise are STEM and English.
I love teaching and encouraging young students! With many changing circumstances during these times, I want to help students to find new ways to succeed academically, mentally, and emotionally.
I am a college student, so I have been spending a lot of time observing the way students learn. I am continuing to refine and deepend my understanding of biology, chemistry, math, and English.

Before tutoring a new student, I would like to spend some time discussing what they are looking for in a tutor and what their learning style is so I can best help them.
I would encourage students to find a tutor they are comfortable asking any questions to. It can be intimidating to speak up! However, the best way to learn is to ask questions and speak your mind whenever you don't understand something, so look for someone who will foster that kind of learning environment for you.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about what learning style works for you or what you would like to try. Do you want to hear a lesson retaught in a different way? Do you want to watch your tutor work through practice problems? Do you want to review content and study it together? It's totally okay to not know yet, but these are great questions to consider as you move forward with your education.
