About Destine
I am currently attending the Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa College pursuing an envronmental science degree. I am passionate about ensuring students enjoy learning and do not face any barriers in achieving their dreams. As a tutor, it is important to me that the students I work with learn not only what is on the paper, but also personal skills that will ensure their success.
I specialize in:
- AP tutoring
- College essay writing
- All subjects k-5
- English, math, and social sciences for grades 6-12
- I also play the piano and clarinet and am able to support students with music and humanities
I started tutoring when I was a senior in high school in Louisville, KY. At first, I tutored sophomores and juniors in AP Seminar, AP Environmental Science, and AP Language and Composition. I also spent six months supporting a youth political orgaization as a Spokesman Coach where I trained members in public speaking and story telling. Since then I have tutored with my private service, mostly working with grades 6-12.

1. I get to know the student themselves, who they are as a person, their interests, and natural learning styles.
2. I give look at where the student is struggling an try to find out the specifc reason they are having trouble. Maybe there is a certain techique or concept they're missing, possibly they could only need some better organzation skills.
3. I create specific quizes and worksheets so I ensure they understan the specific concepts they are sturggling with.
4. I support them in their normal course work.
5. I follow up to ensure they are continuing on a positive path.
