About Katie
I am a medical doctor with a MBA who is the daughter of a school teacher/librarian. I am passionate about learning and helping those around me. I overcame reading difficulty during elementary school in order to ultimately receive a MD from the George Washington University (GWU) in DC and a MBA from SMU. I practice actively as a hospital doctor and have a startup business. I am tutoring, because I had the skill set to overcome learning difficulties, have a Mom who was a teacher, have two graduate degrees, and am passionate about making a difference.
I have a Medical Degree from the George Washington University, a MBA from SMU, and an undergraduate degree in Biology. I studied language learning at the National Institute of Health and helped map the brains of children using functional MRI's to assess how the brain adapts in learning for children with neurological conditions. I taught training doctors as I advanced through my career. I train employees at my startup. I wrote the curriculum for and registered the first public health data analytics apprenticeship program in the US. I am published in the Journal of Neurosurgery with the Chair of the National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Strokes and in the American Family Physician Journal.
