About EDD
I have been a professional visual artist from since 1978 working in studio with a focus on oil painting, inspired by classic realism & contemporary modern. I have spent a great amount of time to experiment to develop a personal style & gain a deep understanding of materials, tools & technique.
After many decades of research & prctice I have discovered the essentials for building a strong foundation of knowledge in the visual arts focusing on the magnificent media of oil painting. I have had the opportunity to share my knowledge with students of all ages. Experiencing their reveletion at developing a new understanding & mastery of the tools, materials & essential techniques while creating an artwork with confidence is the greatest reward for a teacher & mentor.
I have a BFA fro the University of Washington. My decades of studio experience have developed the essential ingredients for deeply understanding the visual arts with a focus in oil painting. I have taught at community art centers, public schools, art museums & my painting studio sharing my knowledge with students of all ages & level of achievement.
