About Chad
My drawings are interpretations of what I see and feel. I use several layers of graphite pencil to create realistic pets, portraits, landscapes and architecture. In a few of my pieces, I have included repetitive and abstract elements as symbolism as well as to offer different perspectives and texture. I try to capture spirit in every piece and hope to bring the emotion, thoughts, and tranquility of the subject to the viewer.
Through lessons I teach how to see differently. Please find more about my classes on my website here: (concealed information)

I was taking pastel classes several years ago and was asked to help teach drawing at a Health and Wellness center in Boerne, TX. I have also taught workshops and classes in Texas for the Hill Country Council for the arts and most recently for Sheppard Arts Institute in Colorado Springs as well as group and private lessons. I've always had interest in teaching and love to share my passion.
I have 4 years high school art classes and one year liberal arts college and 8 years as a professional artist. I don't like the term self-taught because I have learned from many references.

First I discuss the goals of the student. If I am able to assist, I will tell ways I can help accomplish using my techniques and strategies.
I have worked with all ages.
It is important to know your goals and what you like to get out of the class and how you plan to utilize your newfound knowledge. Research the portfolio and style of the teacher and decide if you think it's a good fit for your goals. Teaching experience is always good. Ask for references.

What a cool experience this was! Our daughter loves drawing and loves being creative. This was a perfect outlet for her and the “communal” drawing we created at the end was an awesome surprise for her! Highly recommend Chad, and he did great with the different levels of experience the kids have
