Fred Astaire Jacksonville. Co-founded by the legendary Fred Astaire, our studios set the standard of excellence in dance instruction. From Ballroom to Latin to Swing to Salsa, we offer all styles of dance lessons for all ages and ability levels in a fun atmosphere. Dancing enhances every aspect of your life. Our customized wedding dance program gives you the confidence and skill to perform a variety of dances. When that magical moment arrives, your friends and family will be amazed by your elegance, style, and grace.
I love enriching the lives of people from all ages through dance. I've been coaching couples, singles and youth for over 25 years professionally and competitively with many styles of dance. I specialize in theatre arts, ballroom, Latin, wedding dances and group dance choreography for special occasions. Giving my students a sense of accomplishment gives the the confidence to achieve their goal put a big smile on my face.
I started out as a competitive gymnast when I was younger and through high school. The skills that I acquired help me further my dance training. In 1994 I got into ballroom dancing so I could compete, perform and teach in which 2005 I opened up Fred Astaire Dance studios in Jacksonville and Jacksonville Beaches.
I have been a full-time dance teacher for over 25 years. I am trained in all styles of ballroom and Latin dancing. I work with juniors, seniors, singles and couples.
I recieved several national awards as A professional competitor and teacher (Grand Finalist in the United States Ballroom Dancesport Champion & Top Teacher )

The first lesson is really about getting to know the student and their abilities to learn and how they learn. I would evaluate where they are as far as dancing is concerned and where they want to go - the goals and benefits they need to achieve. Some are doing it for a wedding, preparing for a cruise, competition or just to enhance their lifestyle.
Most important outcome is to make sure the students feel comfortable and confident with me as their teacher to continue and take the next step.
I have worked with juniors, teenagers, professional athletes, singles couples, and even large groups and add business conventions.
It's very important to at least give yourself and the teacher a chance to get to know how you learn and how they teach. Some students can take a several months of dance training and or coaching with one teacher, yet when they try out another teacher they could learn just as much if not more in a few weeks. A student should make sure the teacher has not only dance experience but more importantly professional teaching experience that has actually been professionally trained to teach. This can help save you time and money and get you to becoming the kind of dancer you want to be in a much faster pace. The environment of a dance class is also crucial to your during your dance instruction. Having proper shoes also helps depending on how involved you want to get into your dancing.
I was recently a judge at Jacksonville's, "Dancing With The Stars " fundraising event.
