About Leslie
With my passion and love of food, I like to share my recipes with adults, teens and children. I've been cooking for over 50 years and earned a degree in Home Economics at CSUN in 1980. I've worked for various food companies such as Lawry's Foods in their test kitchen, Carnation in their consumer affairs division, various caterers in Los Angeles and San Diego. I also operated my own catering company in the late '80's, worked in restaurants since the age of 15, taught cooking classes in elementary after school programs and adult school.
I love food and the wide use of creativity with different foods to achieve incredible results. I like seeing people's faces when they were able to cook a dish for the first time and enjoy the taste!

About the lesson

I ask each student their experience in cooking and if they like to experiment with foods they never tried eating let alone touching. I work step by step with a student to make them feel comfortable and confident in their cooking skills. I've had students who despise fish, cook a fish dish and loved it!
