About Jose
"Tutor, MD" is dedicated to helping students of all ages and walks of life to attain their educational goals. After having studied for so many years, I've learned some of the "harder" classes can be made simple by using a little bit of imagination. Comprehending the material in front of us is a lot more helpful in short and long term than gross memorization. After having trained as a paramedic and medical doctor, as well as having been involved in post-secondary education for several years, I'm confident you will be satisfied with my services, which include tutoring in the areas of:
Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Terminology, Anatomy, Physiology, Phlebotomy, Pharmacology, amongst others.
Any age, any curriculum, reach out and let's see if I can help you or your loved one ace that test!
**Se habla español, las tutorias pueden facilitarse de manera bilingüe**
I love seeing people make the "Wow" face when they finally understand concepts that have been eluding them. I love empowering others to be better, do better, and to strive to do the same for others and keep the ball moving forwards. I firmly believe in the power and potential us humans have and I've learned education is the easiest way to tap into and harness this potential.
During medical school as a TA and Laboratory Instructor
I'm a lifelong student, always striving to know and learn more and more each day. My formal post-secondary training began in a technical college for Paramedics, FMTI, located in Doral.
After several years of work in the entry-level, private healthcare sector, I went on to medical school. During my time in undergrad/postgrad education, I began to tutor classmates as well as being TA and laboratory instructor for several subjects, including Anatomy and Chemistry.
After emerging from medical school, I've dedicated myself to private tutoring (mostly by word of mouth), teaching at several colleges such as CBT College in Cutler Bay/Miami Lakes campuses as well as FCC Pembroke Pines campus. I've also attained experience consulting in manufacturing and process chemistry, quality assurance for hemp and cannabis industries.

After an initial (and free!) meet and greet session, we can begin discussing what short-term and long-term needs the student has. I do this so that we may tailor the experience to the individual. Some people only want help for a single class, or just want to ace an exam. On the other hand, some of my students need help with several subjects across/along a chosen career development path.
I'm able to provide services to students from middle school all the way to graduate school, such as in nursing and other healthcare related fields.
Independently of the needs, the approach is very similar:
We review the curriculum in question, as well as the books/materials required. We review the lesson plan provided by the instructor/teacher of the class. I'll assess the degree of knowledge the student has in comparison to the required level for the subject and we'll begin developing a plan to supplement the learning effort and increase knowledge base and retention.
Highschool (of all levels, AP/honors/opportunity), post secondary technical education, community college undergrad, private university graduate students.
I can be more than just a teacher. I can be a mentor, a life coach. I've attained all my knowledge with the sole purpose of sharing it, please, don't be discouraged, don't be affraid to ask a question.
"The only stupid questions are the ones we don't ask!"
There is no such thing as a silly question! Satisfy your hunger while you still can!
I had a lot of students in the last CBT College graduation ceremony I attended, this was several years ago. I loved watching my "troublemakers" and "problem student" walk up, dressed in cap and gown, full of pride, eyes wet with tears of joy as their families cheered on. I will make every effort to attend any and all graduation ceremonies in which my students participate.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Does this teacher truly know what they are talking about? Do they really care about me, my life, my future? Have they we earned my respect? Can I earn their respect?

Jose is an absolutely amazing and patient tutor. My son has always had difficulty with math and science. My son is in 7th grade entering 8th grade this year. He was struggling with algebra and Geometry, weeks after working with Jose he just seemed to have a much better understanding of both algebra and geometry. I’m glad I found José and my son feels the same way!
I would like to rate him 5 stars + he was my teachear ,that way that he explained the content of the class help me to understand and remember. He is knowledgeable, straightforward and always available. Thanks Dr Reyes.
Dr. Reyes is a magnificent teacher. He is very knowledgeable and his patience with students is unprecedented. He said to our class; "ask me anything because the only dumb question is the one you never asked ."
I recommend him 100%.REALLY GREAT. CAN HELP YOU UNDERSTAND ANYTHING. VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE
Mr. Reyes is an outstanding teacher being part of his team was an awesome experience. Learned a lot from Dr Reyes, he was very understanding and patient. Definitely enjoyed working with him.
The accuracy of the classes
Dr Reyes is an amazing teacherExplained everything very well so I can understand what was being taught. Just a great tutor!
Jose is a truly amazing instructor! He is knowledgeable in a seemingly endless range of subjects and has a way of explaining anything in an engaging way by using examples you can relate to. No question is a bad one; he helps put your work into perspective while teaching you the tools to be successful on your own. His compassion, no-nonsense demeanor and enthusiasm for teaching inspires students to be great. Highly recommended.
Great guy very passionate very helpful he is a excellent tutor
He’s passionate about what he teaches and goes into depth of each subject to ensure you fully understand it. By far the best tutor I’ve had.
He makes things easy to understand when he explains it
I was extremely happy with my overall experience, the flexibility to adapt to ones particular needs was a plus. The openness and the continuous motivation was well needed. There's always room for learning and I never felt like my suggestions or questions were left unanswered even if they seem ridiculous to you.
Had two classee with him , phlebotomy and terminology. Always tries to explain the class with real life experience. Professional and has the patience to explain as many time as needed.
I liked how he was very dedicated when it came to helping me learn about the subject. I felt comfortable enough to ask him for help whenever I felt like I needed some. He was kind and didn’t get upset whenever a question was asked .

Details
Most tutors price their lessons based solely on their (the facilitators) education. I like to base my prices on multiple variables in addition to my own education, such as the current age and level of education of my students, the contents degree of difficulty. I also take into consideration length of time we work together, discounts apply when my services are required for extended periods.
As a general rule of thumb, my base prices are as follows:
Middle school - $30/hr
Highschool - $40/hr
Post-secondary technical school - $45/hr
Undergraduate program - $55/hr
Graduate programs - $70/hr
