About Rodney
I have a great passion and eargerness to help students learn. I get excited about sharing my knowledge and experiences with students and am overjoyed when what I share helps them achieve their goals. Let's get to work!
I started out as a substitute teacher making my way through different districts. I then earned a Teaching Assistant certificate on the way to earning a professional certificate.
I have over 18 years of educational experience, including general and special education at the middle and high school levels. I also have experience coaching and training baseball along with boxing, kickboxing/muay thai.

Start with a light, informal introduction. Inquire about their strenghts (personal, academic, etc) and things they could strengthen. Find their likes and areas they would like to improve in.
I have worked with a wide variety of students ranging from the underserved, to special needs.
I would advise any student to have an open mind and be recptive to any and all information that can be shared.
I was honored to take part in a Black History Month exhitbit at The New Rochelle Public Library last year. The exhibit showcased an all-black fife, drum, and bugle corps named Charles W. Dickerson Field Music, which I am a member of. In the exhibit, the history of the corps was illustrated, detailing the beginnings of the corps itself, the origin of the style of play, and highlights of its current and former members. The event was culminated with a musical performance by the corps.
