About Kiera
I am an experienced tutor and Cambridge graduate with a PGCE from UCL and an MA in Creative Writing from UEA. I began tutoring in 2019. I read Modern Languages at Cambridge, combining a study of literature and languages, focusing on French and Arabic. I have taught in both primary and secondary schools, and I was previously Head of Welfare at Norwich Lower School. I loved my time in the classroom, but I felt increasingly drawn to tutoring as I quickly saw how hugely fruitful and rewarding one on one support is for rapid progress in learning and mind-set, which simply can't be matched in a classroom of up to 30 pupils. My knowledge and training in pupil welfare, including counselling skills, wellbeing, mindfulness, SEN and mental health specialist training, led me to foreground the 'gentle' approach. My aim is to combine the healthy balance of nurture, structure and a commitment to steady progress.

With a passion for English and French, I now tutor full-time alongside writing, drawing, and painting. I have taught in both primary and secondary schools, and I was previously Head of Welfare at Norwich Lower School. I have a track record of delivering reassuring, clearly structured and engaging lessons. With my tried and tested materials and methods, I can assure that by the end of a course tutoring sessions, my students will by the end of tuition feel supported, prepared, and crystal clear on how to succeed in their learning goals. Over the course of my tutoring career, I have helped many students and families to prepare for entrance exams for all the main entry points (7+, 11+, 13+, 16+) for leading UK day & boarding schools, including entry to: Brighton College, Thomas's, City of London, Harrow, Sevenoaks, St Paul's Boys & Girls, Godolphin & Latymer, Westminster, Benenden, The Harrodian, Marlborough, Latymer Upper, Dulwich, Wycombe Abbey, Charterhouse, Francis Holland, James Allen's Girls' School, Rugby, Wellington, Bute House, Winchester and others.
