About Kristen
I am a theatre teacher of 11 years, where I work with ages 12-17. My teaching certification is in English and Theatre. Some of my summers have consisted of me training at the Broadway Teachers Workshops in New York City. My expertise is in acting for the stage. In 2016, I was awarded Middle School Arts Teacher of the Year.
I went to college for teaching. It is always something I've wanted to do.
I have been a certified theatre teacher for 11 years.

When I first start working with a student, I need to get a sense of how comfortable they are speaking in front of others. That will help me decide what preparation and warm up skills will be best to start with. Beginning with already established works to practice basic acting skills, such as projection, enunciation, movement, and expression, is the most successful.
I have worked (and currently work) with ages 11-17. My students range from beginner actors to veteran actors.
I was recently informed by the mother of one of my alumni that her son just auditioned for Book of Mormon on Broadway! I also had another alumni get discovered at an audition I sent her to, and she was invited to California for a screen test for the TV show Modern Family.

I usually charge $25 for a 30 minute session. I also do mentoring for auditions for $40 an hour - this requires audition material to be already selected.
