Keri has been such an influential teacher and mentor to me over the years. She has a way of getting to know you, as an actor and a person, and guiding you to not just play the character, but to understand your character and justify their humanity. She understands how to bring out the best in your work. "You are enough", that is how she starts your journey. I have utilized her coaching throughout my life, whether I'm onstage, in front of the camera, or even in an interview or presentation.

Keri has served as both a mentor and colleague to me since 2009. As my High School theatre teacher, Keri taught me to stop thinking about what the theatre could do for me, but instead what I could do for the theatre. From the relevance of the story to the current social and political atmosphere, to the plethora of behind the scenes work to be accomplished, I began to work on all of the elements that needed to happen for the play to be a success. When I stopped thinking about myself as ‘the actor’ and started thinking about the bigger picture of making the best production, I was finally able to thrive.

Keri regarded her students as professionals; she never patronized us. Quite to the contrary, Keri set the expectation for professional quality acting and work ethic. She encouraged all of her students to make opportunities for themselves, and assisted us in devising our own art. She mastered the creative process with structure; with the students in directorial positions, we all sat at a round table and learned to communicate our needs and facilitate a common creative vision, all in the interest of the production.

I have since continued my career by receiving a classical piano performance degree, starting my own music studio, composing the musical scores for theatre and film, and launching an independent performance career via YouTube.

She never stops pushing her students. She pushes them to become the best they possibly can be and continuously reminds them that there are no mistakes and that "we are enough!" I got into and am graduating from Ithaca College, one of the top schools in the nation for theatre, because of the training I received from keri.

She is excellent at pulling you out of your comfort zone, not afraid to critique but always specific and constructive. She's definitely a perfectionist, about herself and about the work she does, meaning you. She is my mentor, and I will always love having her as a sounding board for any and all of my career decisions.
