My name is Caitlin I will help take you (or you child or teen*) to the next level and give you the confidence you need to have your best audition. I will coach you through every step of the process from choosing the perfect monologue, to outfit selection, to how to walk into the room. As an actor myself, I know that successful auditioning is about more than acting technique. It's about how you present yourself and how you feel going into the audition. That's why in addition to using different exercises to help you give your most believable and compelling performance I will work you through warm ups, breathing, meditation, and visualization techniques to help you bring your most relaxed and authentic self to the room.

My first summer job in college was working at a theatre camp and I have been in love with teaching ever since. I live for that moment when somthing clicks and an actor finds something inside them that they didn't know was there. It's so excitng seeing actors transform!

It's imporant for me to get to know my student. I would start by asking them some questions. What are his/her expectations? What is their previous acting experience and training? When is the audtion and what do they need to prepare? Where are they at in the process, do they need final polishing touches or are they starting from scratch? What do they love most about acting?
In the past I worked primary with children and teenagers but in college and graduate school I was able to help coach some of my peers. I have done some directing as well, for both teen and college age actors.
I think it's very important to find an acting coach who you click with, someone who you can trust. If you can't be honest with your coach and be willing to take honest feedback from them it's probably not a good fit. Some actors benefit from harsh criticism but most respond to a mix of frank feedback and loving encouragement. Find a teacher that will push you out of your comfort zone but who has a style that works for you.
Recently, I got to see a friend perform as one of the witches in MacBeth. It was an outdoor performance, in a beautiful setting, on a chilly summers eve. It was some of the most fun I have had watching Shakespeare. It was haunting, and magical. The witches stole the show! It was captivating, intriguing and an absolute pleasure to watch actors not only mastering the language but having a blast doing it!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Why are you seeking acting coaching? Are you looking to improve your craft or most interested in making industry connections? Do you want a teacher who is more strict and hardcore or someone who is more laidback and nurturing..or perhaps a little of both? What are some of your goals, both long term and short term? What is your timeframe like? How much time are you willing to spend with your coach and practicing outside on your own? How quickly do you memorize lines? Is your primary focus acting technique or do you want to career advice/coaching as well?

Details
Standard rates are as follows:
$20/hr for one student(one time or occasional) monologue or scene coaching
$30/hr for two students monolgue or scene coaching, work on a scene together or split the hour for monogue work and save!
$18/28hr for recurring students, set up a regular sessions (at least once a month) and save!
*Rates do not include renting a rehersal space. I will work out of your apartment or home but if the student wishes to rent a rehearsal space the student will be resposible for those charges.
**If you are working on a scene I can serve as your reader or you may bring in a friend to read with you. If you wish to hire a reader you are responsible for those charges.
***I am happy to negotiate pricing for large groups. I offer referral discounts as well!
