About Maria
Hello, My name is Maria and I'm a violin teacher with a passion for music education. I had the incredible opportunity to be a part of El Sistema in Venezuela, which has shaped my approach to teaching and instilled in me a deep appreciation for the power of music. I'm here to help you discover the joy of playing the violin and guide you on your musical journey.
My interest in teaching with comes from my mission to use my love of music to encourage others to learn an instrument to express themselves. From the moment we are born, everyone's life is full of music, it mixes and transforms over the years, and I'm eager to help others develop their musical potential
I have twelve years of professional teaching experience and am comfortable with teaching different genres of music. I worked as a music director, instrumental teacher, and educator for Pre-K to 12 grade. I gained essential skills in teaching youth and adults, collaborating with others. I communicate comfortably in English and Spanish, allowing me to connect with diverse communitie

My typical process for working with a new student begins with an initial assessment to understand their musical interests, prior skills, and goals. From there, I craft a personalized lesson plan that includes technical exercises, repertoire studies suitable for their level, and musical development. During lessons, I emphasize violin technique, music theory, and artistic expression, fostering a supportive and tailored learning environment. I also encourage open communication to continually adjust our approach based on the students' needs and progress.
