About Amanda
Amanda was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she was constantly surrounded and inspired by the arts. She watched her family band play each weekend and took dance and acting classes throughout her entire life. In college, she learned just how impactful and important the performing arts could be and wanted to study as many tools and techniques as possible. This led her to earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Performance from Westminster College and, shortly after, a Master of Fine Arts in Theater performance from Florida Atlantic University.
As an actor, Amanda has worked professionally in various film and stage productions, most notably playing Katie Lynn in the Netflix original movie Deidra and Laney Rob a Train. She is a co-founder of the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating spaces for groundbreaking and original works that connect innovative artists with eager audiences.
As an educator, Amanda has experience teaching students of all ages in classes including Musical Theater, Acting, Movement, and Auditioning. She has worked closely with the artist in residence at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts to produce two Jr. Pilot Productions with Music Theatre International and has directed multiple productions with Disney Musicals in Schools.
Her teaching philosophy stems from the belief that every student deserves access to a safe place to explore, learn, and grow. She believes that theatre education teaches empathy and initiates an awareness of the world around us. Her goal is to help students ignite their passions, build their confidence, and encourage them to be socially engaged members of their communities and
