Scoring impressively on the SAT and getting accepted into a prestigious university is what every student wants, as did I. I was a mediocre student in my high school, and consequently didn’t have much idea about which tutor would prepare me better for SAT. Then a friend suggested Tutor Plus to me, on the basis that it has satisfactory course coverage. Hence I decided to enroll with Tutor Plus at the end of July for SAT October.

I had a little over two months for preparation. The course was covered in a month, while the rest of the time was allotted to query sessions and full-length tests. Every section of the SAT was given ample time, and we were made to solve practice tasks in timed conditions, with discussions about the questions later on.

As for the full-length tests, they were difficult and extensive enough to gear us up for unprecedented questions and situations. About 8 tests were conducted, scored, and discussed to give us an idea of the different tests we could face. I remember Mr. Talha telling me to keep a wrist watch with me during all my practice tests that I was even doing at home.

This too alludes that Tutor Plus takes every student seriously, and goes the extra mile to hone its students’ preparatory skills. Alongside these tests, we were given seventeen SAT practice tests as homework. Their scores were also checked and discussed by the teacher, and we received guidance correspondingly on how to improve further. A separate class was conducted after the tests were over in order to revise all the strategies and tips that we’d learnt.

At Tutor Plus, the course is designed to prepare students for various kinds of questions, covering all difficulty levels. The course books are quite user friendly, with numerous examples and methods explaining every topic, followed by practice questions. To help them get a good grip on reading and analysis, which is crucial for the Reading portion, the students are provided with magazines and novels to read, which prepare them for all sorts of passages, whether they’re on history or space science, economic crises or literature.

Grammatical rules are taught in detail, with precise focus on revision. The essay portion is given particular attention too, with emphasis on the general layout, assignments and sample essays, and in-depth coverage of literary devices.

But of course, no course or subject is good enough, unless it’s taught by a dedicated teacher. Mr Talha would always be willing to put in extra time for me if I had unresolved queries or unsolved questions, apart from the regular classes, even if it meant taking an extra classes for which he would not even charge me.

He gave detailed explanations on how to tackle every section, suggesting strategies to maximize our score in the allotted time. He’d motivate me when he could see the morale getting low due to the toughness of the tests, and counsel me when I didn’t take the preparation seriously.

He also required of me to submit a daily schedule on WhatsApp of what I had studied and for how long, so that he could keep track of my efforts and guide me specifically. I believe his priority is explicit: getting each and every student to nail the SAT.

You never have to worry about finding extra practice material, or finding score-maximization hacks (that actually work), because they’re all covered in the lectures. So if you’re looking for a teacher who looks beyond lucrative interests, and focuses on the students’ betterment, giving them a sense that it is working for them, and not just for itself, then Tutor Plus is the one to choose.

Simply put, I’ll say that this is an investment you can safely make without worrying too much about the risk.

I went to Tutor Plus for SAT preparation and on the first day Sir Talha gave us an outline that he said was to be followed. I initially didn’t think that we would be able to do the whole course AND around 26 full length test but somehow with Sir Talha’s dedication and endless persistence to spend more time on both Math and English, we did it.

He explained everything in great detail and made sure that each and every one of us had understood the concept before moving on to the next. In English, he went through the long, winding passages with us to make sure that we understood what was happening and that helped a great deal in the SAT, he also checked our essays and had a one on one conversation with each one of us on what was lacking and explained in great detail on how to correct it.

During my paper, there were very few questions that I had to think twice about since we were prepped to tackle the hardest questions that College board could throw at us.

I would recommend Tutor Plus to everyone appearing for SAT because without Sir Talha and his endless hard work, I would not have gotten my desired SAT score.
