About Olivia
Through being a bit of a bookworm, I have obtained a 2:1 BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Liverpool and consistently achieved A/A* grades in English at GCSE to A-Level.
My love for tutoring started when I volunteered online to support KS3/4 pupils that needed English tuition due to the effects of the pandemic but were at a socio-economic disadvantage.
Currently working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school for students with special educational needs, English interventions are a big part of my day-to-day life. We all learn differently so I cater to the needs of each student -
I understand that there is a variety of qualifications that students may be working towards under the umbrella of English so I adapt my teaching to suit each individual’s learning style and needs.
In my experience, making sessions enjoyable/interesting as well as helping the student to feel comfortable and fully supported are the key ingredients to success in their learning!
Also, my sessions are neurodiversity friendly - I currently work as a teaching assistant supporting students with special educational needs such as Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia so everyone is welcome :)
