I begin each lesson with a brief review of previously learned concepts to activate prior knowledge and identify any misconceptions. I then introduce the new skill using clear, step-by-step modeling and real-world examples to make the concept meaningful and accessible. Students engage in guided practice where I provide targeted questioning, immediate feedback, and scaffolded support as needed. As confidence grows, students complete independent practice problems that encourage critical thinking and application of concepts. Throughout the lesson, I use formative assessment techniques, such as discussion, problem-solving tasks, and quick checks for understanding, to monitor progress and adjust instruction. Lessons conclude with a summary of key concepts and strategies, along with opportunities for reflection and goal setting to support continued growth and mathematical confidence.
