Teaching
I will have a short session with you to determine what you need from me and what you would like to concentrate on learning or what you are having difficulty with. Then we can discuss what ways of learning work for you. If this is remote learning I can work with Zoom, Teams or Google. I prefer using Google as it's more accessible.
Lessons
I think hour long lessons work best, but I am happy for these to be longer or shorter, as everyone is different.
Experience (Teaching)
I have worked as a teacher and Head of Department in an institution rated as outstanding by OFSTED for over 15 years. I teach and have taught Politics (A level, IB, degree and Access), Sociology (A level) and Law (A level). I am Category 3 trained to teach IB Global Politics this is the highest level of training the IB offers. This includes the 2024 specification. I have completed UCAS many times and am happy tutoring in relation to personal statements. I also work as a mentor to students applying to Oxford and Cambridge and other elite Universities. I can help with personal statements, admission tests and mock interviews. I have a vast experience teaching students with additional learning needs as well as tailoring my lessons to those who are neurodiverse. I have experience in teaching those with dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, ADD, and Asperger's.
Experience (Examining)
I am a Lead Examiner of Sociology at A level for a major exam board. I am an examiner of Global Politics for the IB (IA Paper 1 and Paper 2). I am an examiner of Politics at A level for Edexcel. This experience means that I can bring my insights as an examiner to show you exactly what you need to do to succeed and get the best grade possible.
Qualifications
I have a degree in Law and Politics from a Russell Group University. I obtained a Master's Degree in Politics also from a Russell Group University. I also have obtained a PGCE. I can teach A level, IB and GCSE as well as Access and degree level.
