Experienced teacher of English and Humanities - English tutor with Marlene

Marlene was Assistant Headteacher at Pebble Brook School but also taught English and a variety of other subjects. She comes highly recommended. She is a very good teacher who knows her subject and will strive for the best possible outcomes for all pupils in all lessons. As Asst Head she had high standards and was instrumental in the development of teaching across the school.

Marlene is an extremely experienced, fully-qualified SENDCo and who has many years' experience of English teaching and in supporting students with special needs at Key Stages 3 and 4. She is highly professional and extremely knowledgeable, using her expertise to support students who may be struggling with the curriculum. She has worked with students across the ability range and specialises in supporting dyslexics with developing the learning strategies they need to engage with all aspects of their learning and the English curriculum in particular. She can advise parents on all aspects of Special Needs provision and aims to build confidence in young people who may have felt anxious about their level achievement at school. Her calm and patient demeanour means that she can encourage even the most reluctant student to engage with the curriculum. Marlene is an excellent English/SEN teacher and I have no doubt that she will have a significant impact on the progress her tutees make.
