About Mccollum
I am a patient and happy teacher. I've spent several years living in Spanish speaking countries, in Italy, and teaching Spanish and Italian to young students. The doors that open to you when you can communicate in someone's mother tongue, are so beautiful. I want everyone to be able to open them. Speaking someone else's language is the beginning of trust, and that's exactly what our world needs. More trust.
I prefer to meet my students in my home, a public place, or a reserved library study room and to conduct my lessons in the target language as much as possible. There is so much we can learn when we are in the same space! I am also able to teach online.

I address all the skills during a lesson (speaking, listening, reading, and writing). I assign homework depending on how much the student can handle, set goals, and hold accountability in a kind way. I prefer to teach beginner to intermediate learners.

Perfect! Friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable. Very nice to have in-person meetings instead of Zoom.
Perfect! Mccollum is exactly what I was hoping for in a tutor. She caters lessons to the goals of her student, provides constructive and positive feedback and suggests activities to help with comprehension. I felt more confident in my speaking ability and comprehension after out first lesson. She is prepared with a variety of exercises for each lesson and the time seems to fly by. I highly recommend Mccollum as a tutor.
- Mary has a wide vocabulary and strong motivation to use the language without needing constant confirmation that she's saying things correctly.
