About Emily
I have been blessed with a line of teachers who saw me and treated my voice with respect and enthusiasm. I feel honoured to work with peoples' voices in such a way, to guide through the process and witness the progress!
I have completed my Bachelors in Music Education (Western Connecticut State University) as well as a Master of Arts at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I regularly sing and perform styles from classical and opera to funk, folk, and jazz. I write and perform my own music with the group Yo Soy Indigo.

Emily’s teaching style is based around health-promoting vocal exercises and exploration which serve to build the voice in all areas. Increased strength and flexibility in the voice work for us in any style and ultimately give us the freedom to express ourselves with greater ease. Emily strives for wellness in the voice and does not push people to sing in ways that create pain or stress. She is patient in working through any particular issues such as intonation, ear training, releasing tension, and breathing.
In addition, the voice is deeply personal; it can be saturated with many mixed emotions. Emily endeavours to find the healthy and unique tone that each person possesses, to provide the environment and instruction that brings you closer to yourself, and helps you become your own expert.
