Inspiring students to love English! I'm an experienced online tutor specialising in KS3 and KS4 English Language and Literature. As a University of Manchester graduate (2:1, English Literature and Language) with a PGCE in Secondary Education, I bring both expertise and enthusiasm to my tutoring. My sessions are carefully crafted to engage students and build their skills in both language and literature. I begin with a thorough assessment of each student's individual needs and learning style, identifying their strengths and areas for development. Lessons are then tailored to address these specific needs, incorporating a variety of interactive activities, from close reading exercises and textual analysis to creative writing prompts and exam practice. For literature, we explore key themes, characters, and literary devices, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills. Language lessons focus on grammar, vocabulary, and effective communication, equipping students with the tools they need to express themselves confidently and accurately. I use a range of resources, including engaging online materials, classic texts, and contemporary examples, to make learning relevant and stimulating. Regular feedback and progress checks are integrated into the sessions to ensure students are making progress and to address any challenges they may be facing. My goal is not just to improve grades, but to foster a genuine love of English and empower students to become confident and articulate communicators.

A knowledgeable and experienced teacher who is able to challenge and scaffold pupils’ learning and progress. Amara gives one to one attention to close the gap and boost pupils’ attainment. She offers a professional tutoring service for KS3 and KS4 pupils.
Amara was my tutor for a year and a half, and it's safe to say that I had learnt the most from her out of all the English tutors I had. I always used to struggle with English but because of her I managed to get a 7 on my English GCSEs. Her teaching style is extremely engaging and made me enjoy the subject which I had hated for ages.
