About Dylan
I’m a friendly and enthusiastic secondary Maths teacher with 10 years of classroom experience. For me, one of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing a student move from “I can’t do this” to realising that they absolutely can.
I believe Maths should feel understandable rather than intimidating. My approach is patient, encouraging and down-to-earth, and I enjoy finding different ways of explaining a concept until we find the one that clicks for you.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students of a wide range of abilities, from those who lack confidence in Maths to students aiming for the highest GCSE grades. I understand that every student learns differently and that progress often comes from building confidence alongside mathematical knowledge.
Above all, I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, getting things wrong and having another go. Maths doesn't have to be something you dread — and I'd love to help you discover just how much you're capable of.

I am an experienced secondary Maths teacher with 10 years of classroom experience, specialising in helping students build confidence, address misconceptions and make genuine progress in Mathematics.
My lessons are personalised to the individual student. I begin by identifying areas of strength and difficulty, then use clear explanations, worked examples and carefully chosen questions to develop understanding. I believe students make the best progress when they understand why a method works rather than simply memorising a procedure.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes and combines explanation, guided practice and independent problem-solving. For students preparing for GCSE examinations, I also incorporate exam-style questions, past papers and targeted feedback to develop both mathematical understanding and exam technique.
I have taught students across the full range of secondary ability and understand that confidence can be just as important as mathematical knowledge. I aim to create a relaxed, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their independence.
Lessons are particularly suitable for KS3 and GCSE Maths students, whether they need additional support, want to improve their grade, or are looking for greater challenge.
