About Pooja
I bring up-to-date curriculum knowledge and strong exam-focused teaching to every session. I currently teach KS3 and GCSE Science full-time, which means I am highly familiar with exam board requirements, mark schemes and the skills needed to achieve top grades.
My tutoring is results-driven and structured around helping students improve exam performance. I focus on:
Mastering key concepts required for GCSE success
Developing exam technique, including how to interpret questions and structure high-mark answers
Regular practice with exam-style questions and targeted feedback
Identifying and addressing gaps quickly to maximise progress

Hi, I’m Pooja!
I am a passionate and dedicated Science tutor currently completing my PGCE with QTS through Teach First, specialising in Physics while also teaching Chemistry and Biology. I have experience teaching full timetables at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, working with a wide range of students and learning needs.
My approach to tutoring
My teaching is centred around building confidence, clarity, and curiosity. I believe every student can succeed in Science with the right support and approach. I focus on:
Breaking down complex concepts into simple, understandable steps
Identifying and addressing misconceptions early
Encouraging active participation through questioning and discussion
Creating a supportive and non-judgemental environment where students feel comfortable asking questions
I adapt my lessons to each student’s needs, ensuring they feel challenged but supported at the same time.

Retrieval practice and regular review to strengthen memory
Exam-focused strategies and practice questions
Visual explanations, real-life examples, and structured scaffolding
Guided practice followed by independent application

Typical lesson length
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, but I can be flexible depending on the student’s needs and goals.

Currently completing PGCE with QTS (Teach First) – expected July 2026
Teaching KS3 and KS4 Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) full-time in secondary schools
Experience working with diverse learners, including students with additional needs
Previous professional experience in a fast-paced creative industry, bringing strong communication and organisational skills into teaching
