About Nina
I'm Nina and I have a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and an M.B.A. both from Kettering University in Flint, MI. I have over 15 years of experience in the engineering industry. I have years of experience tutoring 1st through 3rd graders in reading and math as a volunteer. I'm also an Elementary level Reading & Math Program Coordinator that tutors a small focus group of 10 students (3 years of experience). Although my passion is helping Elementary school students, I also have tutored math privately for High School students. My engineering mindset makes it easier for me to understand the thought process that a student is taking when approaching a math problem. This helps me easily assess target areas for improvement. Students learn tips to logical thinking with completing math problems. My passion for teaching students to read and write is apparent in my tutoring approach. I incorporate activities into each tutoring session to help my students stay engaged and help them apply what they are learning to real life. I want to help the students I work with learn and enjoy their subject area of focus. Please feel free to reach me with any questions or to schedule a lesson. At this time, I am primarily conducting online tutoring sessions. My session quality is the same whether it be in person or face-to-face! Please note that for any cancellations, I must receive a 36 hours notice otherwise you will still be charged for the session. In honor of March Is Reading Month, I will be offering my current clients a FREE 30 minute Reading Tutoring Session during March. Happy learning!
