About SAMANTHA
I am a fully qualified UK secondary English teacher with extensive experience teaching A Level, GCSE and IGCSE English Language and Literature. I am also an experienced examiner for AQA and CIE which allows me to give my students clear, accurate guidance on what examiners are looking for and how marks are awarded.
I have been in education for over twenty years. I have taught in secondary schools across London and have taught across the age and ability ranges. This means that I have a lot of experience in helping students who have difficulties in accessing the curriculum. I have been Head of English, in charge of a large, successful department. This along with my examiner roles means that I have a very detailed understanding of what is required of students for their examinations.
I enjoy working with young people; helping them to achieve their goals and discover the joy and excitement that an appreciation of English can bring. I am enthusiastic, patient, calm and organised - important qualities that enable my students to gain in confidence and flourish in their exams.

I work with students following the British Curriculum, including international students studying IGCSE and A Level. Lessons are tailored to the individual student's needs and focus on practical strategies that lead to measurable improvement.
My experiences in teaching a range of students from diverse backgrounds and academic capability mean that I am completely aware of how to tailor my lessons to suit the needs of individual students. I understand that many students who come for tuition may feel worried and unconfident about their exams or an aspect of the syllabus that they are studying. My aim is to develop their confidence whilst enabling them to really understand how to get the best possible grade they are capable of achieving. I believe that good communication is important in developing a good working relationship and I encourage input from my students with regards to how they want their tuition to develop.

- Structuring high-level responses
- Improving grades through examiner informed feedback
- Coursework/NEA support
- Confidence building for timed exam writing
All lessons are delivered online, making them suitable for students based in the UK or internationally. I am happy to work across time zones and offer sessions during UK mornings and daytime.
