About Candra
I have over 7 years of experience working as a private tutor. I specialize in helping middle school and high school students excel in core subjects. I can help with Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Middle & High School Language.
I tutored all throughout high school and college. I've helped children from 6 years old to seniors in high school learn and retain the essentials of a variety of topics. Learning can be fun, but not everyone learns the same way. That is where I come in. Having a one on one tutor allows your child to learn on their own time, and at their own pace without the distractions or pressure found in the classroom. I am particularly comfortable with the sciences and math but am available for English tutoring as well.
Nearly all of my students have increased their performance on tests, quizzes, and overall grades. The best results come with a consistent child/parent commitment to progress. Please feel free to ask to speak to my references.

For the past seven years, I have been working as a private tutor helping middle and high school students excel in all core subjects. I have experience in tutoring: Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Middle & High School Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Middle & High School Language. I work well with children from all educational backgrounds - from those who are burnt out to advanced students.
When working with children, I use the Socratic method of asking questions, working through difficult problems together, giving practice problems for review, and asking the child to explain the process in their own words to test for understanding and mastery. This allows the child to learn the process for problem solving, which can be applied to a variety of topics and problems in the future.
