About Hannah
I completed my Bachelor of Social Sciences at UCT in 2023 with a triple major in Psychology, Sociology, and English Literary Studies. I graduated with 4 distinctions: 1 for each major and the overall degree with distinction. I completed my Honors degree in Psychology in 2024, funded by a prestigious scholarship from the Mandela Rhodes Foundation. Although I largely studied Humanities subjects, I am good with numbers and thoroughly enjoy teaching Mathematics, coding, and conducting quantitative analyses. I matriculated with 92% in Physics and 90% for Mathematics. I was in the top set class for Mathematics and Physics throughout high school.

I am a passionate and dedicated teacher with 5 years of experience tutoring high school Mathematics, including statistics. I have one year of experience in tutoring Psychology at UCT. During my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, I have taken 3 statistics courses. I received a first for every course. I did a quantitative research project for my Honors thesis. As such, I am experienced in data collection, handling, wrangling, and analysis. I was taught how to code using R during a postgraduate statistics course. Additionally, I used R to wrangle and analyze the data for my thesis. During my undergraduate statistics courses, I used Excel. As a tutor, I am always patient and kind with my students. I am here to support you and help you to achieve your goals. My teaching method is very methodical. I make sure that my students understand the basics before progressing. I give detailed explanations and will spend as much time as is needed to ensure that my students understand a certain concept. I use a lot of visuals such as a whiteboard and mind-maps. I like to teach my students my study methods or work with them to develop their own study methods that work with them.
