About Shalaka
As a dedicated philosophy tutor with a BA in Philosophy and currently pursuing an LLM in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution, I have a strong foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects of the subject. With experience as a Teaching Assistant, I’ve worked closely with students, helping them overcome academic challenges and develop a deep understanding of complex ideas.
I teach because I believe that philosophy is not just a subject but a tool for critical thinking and personal growth. My approach to tutoring is centered around making philosophy accessible, engaging, and tailored to the individual needs of each student. I use a combination of interactive discussions, case studies, and simplified explanations to help students grasp complex philosophical concepts. My teaching methodology emphasizes critical thinking and active participation, encouraging students to ask questions and think deeply about the subject matter.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, during which we’ll explore key topics, analyze arguments, and apply philosophical theories to real-world scenarios. To ensure that each lesson is effective, I request that students provide their notes prior to the session. This allows me to prepare tailored content and make the most of our time together.
I hold a BA in Philosophy and am currently pursuing an LLM in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution, bringing both academic rigor and practical experience to my teaching. I’ve worked as a Teaching Assistant in philosophy and have experience coaching students at an undergraduate level.
My lessons are suitable for university students, or adults who are new to philosophy.
