About David
Hello! My name is David Brossard, and I am a dedicated violin and viola teacher with extensive orchestral and private studio experience. I have taught with youth orchestra programs and nonprofit initiatives, where I guided students through rehearsals, performances, and one-on-one lessons. My goal is always to create a supportive learning environment where students feel confident, motivated, and excited to play. I combine a strong technical foundation with creative teaching methods that make music engaging and approachable for every student. Parents can trust that I bring both professionalism and patience to my lessons, and students can be assured that I care about their growth and success. Whether preparing for auditions, improving ensemble skills, or simply learning to enjoy their instrument, I am committed to helping students achieve their goals.

Teaching Method & Techniques
I believe that music should feel both approachable and inspiring. My teaching method combines a strong technical foundation with creative exercises that help students truly connect with their instrument. I break down complex techniques into small, achievable steps, use demonstrations, and incorporate visual and aural learning strategies so that every student—whether they are a beginner or advancing toward auditions—feels confident and supported.
Typical Lesson Plan
A lesson begins with warm-ups and technical exercises (scales, bowing, or shifting) to build muscle memory. From there, we move into repertoire that matches the student’s level and interests, blending classical foundations with engaging pieces that keep them motivated. I always reserve time for sight-reading, ear training, or rhythm games, and end with clear practice goals for the week so the student knows exactly how to progress between lessons.
What Sets Me Apart
What makes me different is my combination of orchestral teaching experience and private studio leadership. I’ve taught through youth orchestra programs and nonprofit initiatives, which means I know how to motivate students in both group and one-on-one settings. I also connect with students personally—I encourage them, celebrate small victories, and adapt lessons to their learning style. This creates a supportive environment where progress feels exciting rather than overwhelming.
