About Kat
I am a lifelong learner who struggled with an undiagnosed learning disability until halfway through my PhD program. I have always wondered where I would be if I was not so passionate about knowledge. I am a former high school social studies teacher with Master’s in Education. I also coached fine arts and debate. I then spent over 20 years in corporate training working with adults and earning my PhD in Psychology. Since the start of the pandemic, I have been honored to be a TESOL certified online ESL tutor for VIPKid International. I have taught over 600 students, more than 1800 classes, and logged 45000+ minutes of tutoring time. I still learn something new every day. I look forward to meeting you.

Students do not learn the same, so why should they be tutored the same. Through assessment and gap analysis, the student and I work together to find the key to unlocking their learning potential. The skills they learn today will continue to assist them in college and help them succeed in their dreams of tomorrow.
I work with middle school through college age students in all humanities subjects, study skills, and test taking strategies. I work with adult ESL students in business English and presentation skills. Let’s start with a conversation and talk about tutoring to your goals.

One of the most gratifying experiences in my life was working with Kat. She has the amazing ability to recognize undisclosed talents of a person which, in my case, led to a much more successful future and I’ve always felt indebted to her for that.
Kat and I worked together at a manufacturing plant where she was the training director. She is an engaging connector who is genuinely passionate about helping learners and is accountable to results.
