About Shaun
Teaching isn’t just something I do; it’s the part of my musical life that gives me the most purpose. I love helping people unlock skills they didn’t know they had, whether that’s mastering a new technique, understanding theory more clearly or finding the courage to perform.
My approach is calm, structured and encouraging. I break concepts down into practical steps, explain the why behind the music, and create a space where mistakes are simply part of learning. Years of experience as a performer, ensemble director, workshop leader and theory tutor mean students know they’re in safe, knowledgeable hands. My training in performance‑confidence hypnotherapy adds another layer of support, helping learners overcome nerves, self‑doubt and mental blocks.
My goal is simple: to help you grow as a musician and leave every lesson feeling more confident than when you arrived.

I help musicians grow quickly with clear, practical teaching that builds skill and confidence from the very first lesson. My sessions are usually 30 minutes, giving you focused, personalised coaching without overwhelm. With experience as a tuba player, conductor, workshop leader, theory tutor and classroom teacher, I bring a rare mix of technical expertise and mindset support.
