About Ava
As a musician and educator, my journey has been shaped by a deep-seated passion for music and a commitment to sharing that passion with others. With several years of experience teaching and performing across diverse musical genres, I bring a wealth of practical knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for music education.
From an early age, music became my lifelong pursuit. I began studying music theory and playing instruments, eventually specializing in guitar and piano. My formal training and extensive performance experience in genres such as rock, soul, funk, folk, and Latin music have equipped me with a versatile skill set that informs my teaching approach.
As an educator, I strive to create a supportive and inspiring environment where students can explore and develop their musical talents. I tailor my teaching to accommodate each student's learning style and goals, whether they are beginners embarking on their musical journey or advanced players looking to refine their skills. I believe in fostering creativity and self-expression through music, encouraging students to not only master technical aspects but also to find their unique musical voice.
Beyond teaching instrumental techniques, I emphasize the importance of music theory, improvisation, and performance skills. I integrate these elements into lessons to provide a comprehensive music education that empowers students to understand music deeply and apply their knowledge in diverse musical contexts.

In my music lessons, whether teaching guitar, piano, or another instrument, I strive to create an enriching and personalized experience that caters to each student's musical aspirations and skill level. Each lesson begins with an assessment of the student's current abilities and goals. This helps me tailor lesson plans that address specific areas for improvement while building on the student's strengths. For beginners, I introduce fundamental techniques such as proper hand positioning, basic chords or scales, and rhythm exercises. As students progress, I gradually incorporate more advanced concepts such as music theory, improvisation, and genre-specific techniques.
I believe in a balanced curriculum that encompasses various aspects of music education. Alongside instrumental techniques, I emphasize music theory, ear training, sight-reading, and performance skills.
