About Miles
I am a Maths tutor with over five years of experience and a BA in Mathematics. My passion lies in topology and knot theory, exploring shapes, spaces, and continuous deformations. I enjoy helping students see the beauty in mathematics beyond formulas, where intuition meets rigorous proof. In my sessions, I use visual aids and real-world examples, like molecular structures, to make abstract concepts tangible. Together, we examine how spaces can stretch, twist, and connect in surprising ways. I work closely with students interested in abstract mathematics, physics, and even art, showing how these fields intersect with topological ideas. I encourage curiosity, exploration, and hands-on thinking, making complex ideas accessible and engaging. My teaching style balances careful explanation with interactive problem-solving. I also share insights from the history of mathematics to make learning more engaging and meaningful. Every session focuses on building both skill and confidence for exam day. Through consistent practice and reflective guidance, learners improve speed, accuracy, and reasoning skills. I prepare them thoroughly to face challenging questions with clarity and calm. My aim is to ensure students not only perform well but also enjoy the process of discovering solutions. By the end of our sessions, students gain confidence, strategy, and the tools to excel in exams and beyond.
