About Livia
I am a passionate Maths tutor with 12 years of experience and an MMath qualification, dedicated to helping students develop strong reasoning skills through structured and thoughtful learning. My teaching focuses on building logical understanding using paradoxes, proofs, and carefully designed problem-solving techniques. I enjoy introducing challenging ideas in a way that feels intuitive and engaging. This helps students connect abstract concepts with real thinking processes.
I guide students step by step through mathematical proofs so they can understand both logic and structure. I also teach logical frameworks that strengthen analytical thinking. My teaching approach in mathematics is calm, reflective, and centred on building deep conceptual clarity that allows students to truly understand the structure behind mathematical ideas rather than relying on memorisation or shortcuts. I carefully design lessons that connect foundational topics like algebra and calculus with more advanced areas such as abstract algebra, number theory, and mathematical proofs, helping students see mathematics as a unified discipline. I believe that complex theories become approachable when broken into logical steps. I take time to explain why each step matters. This creates a strong base for higher-level thinking.
I support learners who enjoy exploring ideas independently and thinking deeply about problems. I guide them in forming their own interpretations of theorems. I encourage questioning and reflection during every session. This helps develop confidence and intellectual independence. I also introduce advanced topics like real analysis, discrete mathematics, and logical reasoning frameworks. These build strong analytical skills.
My focus is to help students not only solve problems but also understand the reasoning behind them. I help them develop a mindset that is useful for research and advanced studies. Over time, they become capable of tackling unfamiliar challenges. This approach makes mathematics meaningful and engaging.
