About Pooja
I’m a dedicated Mathematics teacher with over 15 years of experience teaching both in schools and as a private tutor. I hold a B.Sc. in Computer Science, a B.Ed., and an M.Sc. in Mathematics. I’ve taught students in Melbourne, London, and India, specializing in VCE Maths Methods, Specialist Maths, and Further Maths. For the past five years, I have been teaching mathematics to students from leading private, public, and selective schools in Melbourne, fostering a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and building students' confidence. My teaching approach is focused on helping students understand the "why" behind mathematical concepts, not just the "how" of solving problems. I believe that building a strong foundation in problem-solving and critical thinking leads to both academic success and a genuine appreciation for the subject. In addition to my professional life, I am happily married with two young children. I understand the importance of balancing work and family life, and I strive to bring that same balance, patience, and commitment into my teaching. Key aspect of my teaching experience is that I have seen/taught so many students who hated maths before but now maths is their favorite subject and they are doing really well after I helped them in maths. My aim while teaching is to make students understand how a problem works, rather than simply trying to find a correct answer. With this approach, I try to focus on overall understanding of the problem, break down the problem into individual parts, and encourage students to think through and then solve the problem.

This year, Pooja was my tutor for 3/4 Methods, and she was amazing!
