About Ben
I have worked in maths education since 2012 as a maths specialist learning mentor, a class teacher, a private maths tutor and ran my own business creating educational resources. I completed a degree in maths and it’s learning, post graduate training in maths teaching and a year long training program on teaching maths for mastery. This variety of training and experience have given me deep insight into the way we learn maths and I’m passionate about giving students the best experience of maths education possible.

My lessons are completely tailored to you. Once I have got to know you and your needs I plan sessions that work towards your goals, but there is always the option to look at something you did recently in class that you want more help with, or an exam question you didn’t understand, and I can quickly adapt the sessions to whatever is best for you.
I am mastery trained and use a variety of techniques and representations to build deep understanding. I don’t believe there is one best way to learn maths, but rather a best way for you that I will learn and adapt my teaching to.
Whether you need help pushing to a grade 9 in the summer or are struggling and need help, I can support you.
