About Shanzay Zehra
Hi, I'm Shanzay! I am an incoming student at Sciences Po and have over three years of experience tutoring students aged 4–16. Throughout this time, I have helped pupils prepare for SATs, 11+ entrance examinations and GCSE Maths in both English and Urdu, working with students of a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
Having recently completed A-Levels in Mathematics, Economics and Computer Science, I understand the challenges students face when preparing for important exams and the importance of building confidence, as well as balancing understanding content and practising exam technique. My goal is to make learning engaging, supportive and tailored to each student's individual needs.
I enjoy helping students develop the skills and confidence needed to achieve their academic goals, whether they are preparing for exams, improving their grades or simply looking to strengthen their Maths.

My approach to tutoring is centred on building confidence and developing strong foundations to allow students to become independent problem-solvers. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to each individual's strengths, areas for improvement and academic goals.
In Maths, I focus on ensuring students understand the reasoning behind concepts rather than simply memorising methods. Lessons typically combine explanation, worked examples and guided practice, with plenty of opportunities for students to ask questions. For GCSE preparation, I emphasise exam technique, time management and familiarity with different question styles.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although shorter or longer sessions can be arranged depending on the student's age and needs. Lessons are carefully planned and adapted based on the student's progress, whether they require support with schoolwork or exam preparation.
My lessons are suitable for students studying GCSE Maths and Further Maths. I aim to create a supportive, engaging and challenging learning environment that helps students achieve their goals.
