About Rebecca
In my Bachelors Degree I studied General Sciences with a focus on Chemical Biology and Psychology. I was setting myself up for further studies as a neurologist, but I fell in love with Mathematics. I have been tutoring full-time for the last 5 years and seek to share with my students the only language that we as humans all share, the language of Mathematics.

Aside from providing my students with the tools necessary to achieve a more meaningful comprehension of Mathematics, I help them with meta-cognitive studies. (learning how to learn best for them)
My favorite techniques for explanation are successive approximation (shaping), visualization, active rehearsal, association, humor and stress management techniques.
A typical class includes:
An arithmetic game (all of my games have been designed to teach or reinforce many different aspects of learning -feel free to ask me about them)
Review of material taught in previous class (memory maintenance is important)
Lesson on new material immediately followed by practice
Applications focus - looking at where this Math is applicable in the real world
Time for answering general interest based questions (academic topics only)
Provide Homework or guidance on what to practice on until next lesson.
