About Riya
I am a Math tutor with over 5 years of experience and a BSc in Applied Mathematics. I specialize in using game theory and optimization techniques to explain how decisions are made in economics and business. My lessons often explore concepts like the Nash equilibrium, showing how strategic choices can influence outcomes in competitive environments. I also teach linear programming, helping students understand how to allocate resources efficiently and solve real-world problems. Cost-benefit analysis is another key topic I focus on, enabling learners to evaluate trade-offs and make informed decisions. My approach blends theory with practical examples so students can see mathematics in action. I enjoy applying mathematical models to strategic business and economic scenarios. This not only deepens understanding but also builds analytical thinking skills that are valuable beyond the classroom. For me, mathematics is not just about numbers—it’s about strategy, reasoning, and finding the best path forward. If you’re ready to use mathematics as a tool to gain a competitive edge in decision sciences, I’d be excited to guide you on that journey.

My teaching approach in Math is designed to help students excel not only in their academic courses but also in competitive tests like SAT, GRE, and GMAT. I focus on building a strong foundation in core topics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, and pre-calculus. For test preparation, I combine targeted drills with timed practice tests to sharpen speed and accuracy. This helps students adapt to the pressure of real exam conditions. I guide learners in developing problem-solving strategies that work best for them, while also teaching how to avoid common pitfalls that can cost marks. We work on breaking down complex problems into simple, manageable steps. My lessons also include techniques for recognizing patterns, estimating answers, and eliminating wrong choices quickly. Being deeply interested in the history of mathematics, I sometimes weave in fascinating stories of mathematical discoveries to inspire curiosity. This makes learning engaging and memorable. I believe preparation is more than just solving questions—it’s about building confidence. That’s why we revisit tricky concepts until they feel effortless. With a structured plan, regular feedback, and smart strategies, students are fully equipped for high scores. On exam day, they are not only ready but confident in their abilities.
