About Luigi
Hello, my name is Luigi, and I am a Math student at the University of Waterloo with strong experience helping high school students succeed in mathematics. I understand that math can sometimes feel overwhelming, but my goal as a tutor is to make it clear, approachable, and even enjoyable. I like to use analogies and step-by-step explanations so that difficult concepts feel simple and relatable. Many of my students tell me this approach makes them feel more confident and less stressed when tackling new problems. I always adapt my teaching style to each student’s needs—whether that means slowing down to build a strong foundation or providing advanced challenges for those who want to get ahead. My lessons are structured, supportive, and focused on helping students truly understand the material instead of just memorizing it. What sets me apart is my ability to explain concepts in different ways until they click, combined with my own experience in advanced university-level mathematics. I know what it takes to transition from high school to higher education, and I aim to give students both the skills and the confidence to succeed. As a Math student from the University of Waterloo with tutoring experience, I help high school students understand math concepts clearly and with confidence.
My teaching approach is centered on breaking down problems step by step and using analogies to make abstract ideas easier to grasp. I believe math should feel less intimidating, so I connect concepts to real-life situations, which helps students see why the math works, not just how.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of past material, then moves into the current topic—whether algebra, calculus, or functions. I guide students through examples, encourage them to try problems on their own, and finish with a recap to make sure everything is clear.
What sets me apart is my ability to make math relatable through analogies and clear explanations. I focus on building both problem-solving skills and confidence, so students feel prepared for tests and future studies.

I offer a free first lesson (1h) so students can get to know my teaching style before committing.
Rates are straightforward:
$21/hour for individual lessons
$105 for a 5-hour pack (save $5)
$210 for a 10-hour pack (best value, save $10)
Lessons can be held online via webcam or at the student’s house (no extra charge for travel).
