About Helen
I am a mother of two sons, one of which excelled at school and the other, who has dyspraxia really struggled, being a dyslexic myself, I understand that not all children learn in the same way.
I have a passion for teaching and learning and love working with children on there infant education journey.
I have an HND in early childhood studies and a long career working with children.
Beginning with 5 years in nurseries and continuing into working in Primary schools across reception to year 6.
For 9 years I worked in Years 1 and 2 as a classroom and intervention teaching assistant.
I taught daily literacy and numeracy intervention lessons to keep children on track. As well as monitoring reading progress and running phonics sessions.
I‘m also a trained Attention Autism teacher. A programme called Bucket time, which builds upon a child's attention span and concentration. developing their ability to be able to attend to an activity or object for extended periods of time. This training can be applied when teaching all young children with great results.
