About Judy

Hello, parents and caregivers. My name is Judy Smith. I have been married for 27 years and have two children, ages 18 and 21. They are both currently attending college and looking forward to beginning their dream careers. My favorite hobbies are gardening and traveling to beautiful beaches. When I am not busy with family, I am working with students, planning lessons, or researching best practices for teaching.

My passion in life is helping others to be positive, confident, and productive in their learning journeys. I have 30 years of experience as an educator and am excited to offer my expertise to a larger range of families. Currently, I am an elementary school librarian in Texas; although, I also have many years of classroom experience in grades ranging from kindergarten through college level. I have also worked as a campus Instructional Strategist, Campus Testing Coordinator, Parent Outreach Coordinator, Literacy Coordinator, State Assessment Scorer, and tutor. Also, I am the founder of Intelli-Coach, Learning Success Coaching. As a certified Learning Success Coach, I combine an array of services to create and maintain calm, positive, and productive learning to support the success and progress of students.

My goal is that all students will experience academic success through positive, engaging, and targeted instruction.

About the lesson

Teaching Method and Techniques:
As a remote teacher, I utilize a secure online platform that allows multiple formats of learning that encourage hands-on activities, interactive discussions, and creative projects that are unique to each child's learning preferences. I also incorporate stories, games, and lessons that align with your child’s interests to enhance engagement and comprehension.

Typical Lesson Plan:
Each week, I provide a structured lesson plan based on diagnostic assessments and feedback from previous sessions. Each weekly lesson plan will include easy to navigate details for learning and activities for all required subjects. The student and I will have at least one 1:1 session weekly to review the week's assignments and to provide targeted instruction and/or intervention. A typical lesson might include:

-A brief review of previously covered material.
-Introduction of new concepts through engaging activities or discussions.
-Hands-on practice or assignments tailored to the child’s interests.
-A wrap-up session where we reflect on what was learned and set goals for the next lesson.

I pride myself on my adaptability and commitment to building strong relationships with my students. My focus on personalized learning ensures that each child feels valued and motivated. I also prioritize regular communication with parents to keep them informed and involved in their child's learning journey. This holistic approach fosters a collaborative environment where students can thrive academically and personally.
