About Miriambeth

I'm currently mentoring students who are writing their thesis at the University of Warwick. I completed my MSc in International Health Management at Imperial College London with an excellent grade for my dissertation. This programme equipped me with a deep understanding on how one needs to structure answers to exams/assignments to maximise their performance. This is especially true given the brilliant grades (75+) recorded by my students from top universities. For my undergraduate, I studied medicine and currently licensed to practise in 3 countries. In terms of my knowledge of undergraduate economics modules, I have tutored students in microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics, dissertations. At the postgraduate level, I have a strong knowledge in Health Economics, Business Strategy, Marketing and Health Policy. It is worth mentioning that I am a conversational Russian speaker.

About the lesson

My mission: to provide my students with high-quality tutoring. I’m able to help with everything related to economics, health economics, health policy, including guiding them on how to ethically write their coursework, and exam preparation. I’m able to help with all levels of economics courses, including economics A-Levels, Bachelors and Masters. At present, I am only offering online tutoring sessions. My teaching method is well structured to ensure students get the value of their money.

When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?
I've always loved teaching. This started from childhood and by the time I got into High school, I started reading economics books and excelled at it. Since graduating, I have worked part-time as a tutor for economics and health economics. I've always enjoyed talking to students, helping them understand the material, and sharing my knowledge.
Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).
I currently teach economics and health economics. Economics is the study of human decision-making and can include a wide variety of different fields.There really aren't any economics topics that I don't enjoy discussing with my students!
Health Economics on the other hand is commonly regarded as an applied field in economics. This branch of economics is concerned with issues related to efficiency, effectiveness, value and behaviour in the production and consumption of health and healthcare. I totally love all topics in health economics and students that I have tutored record only Distinction!
Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?
At university, I found that all of my lecturers were passionate about their subject. This really motivated me to share my passion with other people.
What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?
In order to be a good tutor, you must love the subject!
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.
Successfully completing many group projects at university has given me new and different perspectives and insights on how to best approach the subjects I tutor.
What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?
Keeping up with the latest principles and teachings in economics
Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?
Being able to help students fully understand a topic that they have struggled with, and seeing them have a 'eureka' moment, is what keeps me going

Hopefully, my experience of teaching economics for over 3 years and health economics for 2 years, to many students across most UK universities, sets me apart as a SuperProf!
